Masked robbers strike at Stratford supermarket

Three masked men have robbed a shop in Stratford.

The trio struck at Tesco Express on Banbury Road at around quarter past 7 yesterday morning.

They threatened people inside the store, stole cash and cigarettes and escaped in a waiting car.

Detective Sergeant Sutherland Lane said: "Three males with their faces covered entered the store and threatened the people inside. They took cash and cigarettes and left in a black Vauxhall Agila (partial registration NU59) belonging to one of the victims."

The males are all described as being less than six foot tall and were all wearing dark clothing.

Detective Sergeant Lane added: "Fortunately nobody was injured but this was clearly a distressing incident for the victims."

If you witnessed the incident or know of the whereabouts of the Vauxhall Agila please phone Warwickshire Police on 101 or you can make an anonymous report to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org
