The Bard's Night
Friday, April 20th
On Friday April 20, 2018 - there will be another memorable black-tie night of celebration at Stratford ArtsHouse, on the eve of the Stratford Literary Festival and just ahead of the Shakespeare Birthday Weekend in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The Bard's Night is a feast of an evening to celebrate the life of Stratford-upon-Avon's most famous son and the greatest literary genius in the English language. There are many events that celebrate the works of Shakespeare, but The Bard's Night will focus on the man, his life, his achievements and the influences drawn from his life in Stratford and London. The Bard's Night is a highly enjoyable feast of food, drinks and astonishingly good performances.
For 2018, the theme will be "The Elements - Earth, Water, Wind and Fire". The Orchestra of the Swan has already entered into the spirit of the theme with a performance by their Wind quintet. Other "Elements" for inclusion will be revealed as they are confirmed.
The chosen charity in 2017 was The Shakespeare Hospice, which does such wonderful work for the chronically or terminally ill. A total of £1,600 was raised for their benefit by The Bard's Night attendees.
In keeping with the Elements theme we are supporting charities to do with the air, water and fire for 2018 and their names will be confirmed as soon as possible. One will almost certainly be the Air Ambulance Service.
Tickets are available, from the Stratford ArtsHouse box office/website, priced at £70 or £90 for individuals, or £640 or £520 for tables of 8. All prices include VAT, and offer reception drinks and entertainment, a three-course dinner, multi-faceted performances from professional actors, dancers and musicians, rounded off with the candlelit procession and first toast of the Shakespeare Birthday Weekend to the man himself - William Shakespeare.
Price: Singles £70 or £90 / Tables £520 or £640 inc VAT
