Warwickshire woman raises awareness of AIDS

Tuesday, December 1st 2009 04:15

The founder of a Warwickshire charity says World AIDS Day is a good opportunity to recognise the devestation caused by the disease in Africa.

A Warwickshire woman's calling for more action to tackle AIDS in Africa on World AIDS Day.

Jane Kaye-Bailey runs The Butterfly Tree charity from her home in Norton Lindsay. She set it up after visiting a community blighted by the disease while on holiday.

Last year more than 1.4 million African died of AIDS and around 14.1 million children have lost one or both parents to the epidemic.

Jane wants more people to think about giving money to charities that work to tackle the disease and the effects it has on communities.
