Warwickshire Justice Centre ready to open

Wednesday, July 28th 2010 00:00

It's taken 2 years to build and cost around £26 million.

But Warwickshire's new Justice Centre in Leamington will now be ready for use in August.

As well as bringing Criminal Justice Agencies under one roof it'll replace Warwick Crown Court and the Magistrates courts in Leamington and Stratford.

Richard Lyttle, Programme Director for the Justice Centres said: "We are delighted to announce the completion of the Justice Centre in Leamington. The existing Justice Centre in Nuneaton has demonstrated how the collocation of agencies can achieve both excellent performance in the delivery of justice, and service to the public. The new Centre provides wider facilities, such as the Crown Court and VIP Unit, as well as bringing additional justice partners under the same roof.

"All of the Criminal Justice Agencies located within the building are looking forward to providing an enhanced service to the communities within Warwickshire. The new Centre
will enable justice to be done in a very visible and efficient way, offering greater support for victims and witnesses, swifter justice for offenders and a safer community for the public."
