Stafford Festival Shakespeare is one of Europe’s largest open air Shakespeare Festivals and has enjoy 21 years of success welcoming audiences world wide. 2012 will see the event stage Shakespeare's iconic tragedy, a passionate and poignant tale of star-crossed lovers.
In a lawless South America where infectious rhythms of the street inflame violent passions, two young lovers are bought together. A joining forbidden by warring gangs and rival families… Intoxicated by love, their bond is too strong to be broken.
As the sky darkens and the story draws to its terrible end we see how easily quick, bright things, come to confusion. Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet is the ultimate love story full of passion and drama and loved by all generations.
Staged in the beautiful and ancient grounds of Stafford Castle, Stafford Festival Shakespeare has become an important event in Staffordshire’s cultural calendar.
Offering all weather grandstand seating accommodating an audience of up to 1000 the festival offers the perfect setting to start your summer, come rain or shine.
Romeo and Juliet will commence on Thursday 28 June and run until Saturday 14 July 2012. Ticket prices start at just £10.00 for the first night and Monday evening performances, with tickets for other evenings starting from just £17.50.
